apologies for the quality! my camera had a little stress today...
I don't usually do a bright eye but since its getting warmer I really need to start to. This light, kiwi green eyeshadow reminds me of the fresh spring looks, even though we are now getting into summer, I still adore it. Unfortunately the names of the colours used I have either lost or they just didn't come with one, so some picture labelling has been done instead for those who want to try this out themselves. :)
Firstly, we have the star of the show, the Sleek Monaco Palette, this was the usual price of £6.49 and the colours are actually quite pretty and vibrant. Obviously, I started off with Urban Decay Primer potion all over the eyelid, then all over the lid I used this light, shimmery green colour, which was the first one that actually stood out to me. I threw away the insert that comes with the names on this (not very appealing to hold onto flimsy plastic inserts in my opinion) but I believe its called Kiwi Zest, which describes the tone of green perfectly!
This didn't turn out as clearly on the photo as I wanted, but to add definition to the look, I used this olive green from the Sleek Acid palette, which is available on their permanent line. I worked this in from the outer corner of the lid about a third of the way in. Even though this is a matte shade it did not distract with the shimmer of 'Kiwi Zest'.
To highlight all over the brow bone I used this white shade from a Beauty UK palette in No. 4. This palette was only £3.99 and the colours look nice and feel amazing, its like touching cream!
Back to the off-quality photo, in order to finish off I lined the upper lid with MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack and topped it off with Rimmel's Glam'eyes liquid liner in Black Glamour as the gel liner appeared too faded on its own.
On the lash line I used Fluidline again from the outer corner and then Rimmel Soft Kohl Pencil in White from the tear duct to make the eye appear a little brighter.
This white eyeliner looked good first time, but is actually a little hard to work with. Anyone suggest a better liner?
The eyes were finished off with mascara, I used three, No 7's Extreme length, Collection 2000's Big Fake and Maybelline's One by One, all in black of course.
And now onto the lips! At first I thought to just find one colour and stick with it, but I came up with quite a few colours this eye look could be worn with!
I first decided on a light liliac lip to well...match my top, this is Barry M's 129 which is indeed a light liliac shade, even though it looks slightly pinky on the picture! I actually shouldn't neglect this colour as much as I do, but the story behind it is that my lipstick tube is actually quite mushed up because little gremlins at home decided to squish this when I first got it, and I haven't bothered to replace it since, because I think using the lip brush is enough, obviously not. :(
Next was to opt for a bright lip, especially because its now the summer time. How gorgeous is this?! Explains the need for a dual photo. :)
This is Sleek's True Colour lipstick in Fuchsia and I've actually been loving this lately.
Finally we have the nude look, for all those who think that a bright eye HAS to be balanced with neutral everything else (I kid, this still looks gorgeous). This beautiful peachy nude is called Almost Nude, and its by Revlon.
For the rest of my face, it was all pretty basic:
MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NC42 mixed with moisturiser to sheer it up.
MAC Studio Fix powder in NC42 to set.
Sleek Face Contour Kit to contour.
Bourjois Delice de Poudre in 52 on the cheeks to add a little colour.
Have a nice day. :)
